GETTING STARTED

  1. Ensure you are familiar with the “Marriage Act 1961” which can easily be found online: http://www.comlaw.gov.au/

  2. Ensure you are familiar with the Marriage Rites of C3 Australia, and Remarriage & Divorce Guidelines (download below).

  3. Purchase a "Marriage Stationery Starter Pack – For Ministers" from https://secure.canprint.com.au. You will need your new Minister of Religion number for this.

The Wedding Checklist (download below) has been designed to help walk through the process for which forms need to be completed, and when. Feel free to download and use as much as you need!

FURTHER INFORMATION

As a nominated Minister of Religion (Wedding Celebrant), you will hold a C3 Australia Itinerant Minister Credential, and will be expected to maintain your credential through participation in personal development opportunities as requested and / or suggested by C3 Australia (for example, an online update of Safe Church Training every three years). You are also classified as a mandatory reporter.

Weddings need to be conducted within the guidelines outlined in the Marriage Rites of C3 Australia document, and the Remarriage & Divorce document (see above).

C3 Australia Ministers do not receive payment for performing weddings.
